The final Greenville public hearing about Plum Creek's massive development proposal for the Moosehead Lake region was originally scheduled for Sunday, December 16. Due to a predicted snowstorm, the public hearing has now been postponed and will be held in Greenville on Saturday, January 19, 2008. To learn more, please go to http://www.nrcm.org/pc_action.asp.
We hope to see you in Portland for the public hearing on Saturday, December 15 - that one will go on as scheduled at the Holiday Inn By the Bay. We will then see you in Greenville on January 19. Thank you!
LURC has just made available some of the written transcripts of the Plum Creek public and intervenor hearings. They can be found on the state of Maine website at

Any way you can keep the politicians out? I was shocked by a certain politician from the north perpetuating misconceptions about how this plan will be the savior of the region. This should be about the will of the PEOPLE, not policitians. Moosehead belongs to all of us - the state's economic future depends on special places like those.

Is there a LURC written transcript available for all the hearings?
Also, did you see how today for the first time Blethen owns up to the fact that Plum Creek's CEO is on their board, but tries to imply he has no effect on reporting as he is not on the board of the newspapers - only their parent company - which just owns these and a handful of other newspapers.
Creepy.
How long has he been on their board?
