In an op-ed in today's Bangor Daily News, Al Manville and Sandy Scholar wrote, "What we will see from this megadevelopment is the likely loss of local businesses like Harris Drug Store, Auntie M’s and Morrell’s to Rite Aid, Wal-Mart, Lowe’s and Home Depot. Is this what the Moosehead Lake region is going to become?"
What concerns do you have about the Plum Creek development? What special features of the Moosehead region would you miss if Plum Creek's massive development is allowed to happen? Let us know what you love most about Moosehead Lake.
The call of loons on a summer evening. Sunsets unpolluted by manmade lights. Waves lapping on the undeveloped shorelines. Kayaking in prestine water. Moose. And quiet, quiet quiet. All this will be lost if Plum Creek gets its way. Mainer's, rally around the NRCM to keep this special place protected!

What I love most about Moosehead is watching Plum Creek sweat, despite all the slick public relations companies they have hired. They keep putting out their attacks on trustworthy groups like the NRCM, to no avail.
And of course, the whole area of Moosehead this time of year - that's REALLY what I love about Moosehead.
